Mt. Qomolangma Mountaineering Museum is ready to open to the public, after nearly one year's preparation, sources from Tibet Mountaineering School on May 10.
Mt. Qomolangma Mountaineering Museum at Tibet Mountaineering School takes up a total area of over 200 square meters with more than 260 pictures and visual material on display.
The exhibition comprises four parts to introduce the geography and biology of Mt. Qomolangma, the legends about savage, the local customs, the expedition of foreigners, the history of Chinese people atop Mt. Qomolangma, as well as some common sense about mountaineering.
Zhao Yibing, a working staff in museum, said: "Those photos and materials on display are preserved, since 1953 when the human being stepped onto the top of Mt. Qomolangma for the first time. They are helpful for people to know more about the expedition of Mt. Qomolangma Mountaineering."
Moreover, the museum will collect the related photos or used equipments from nine torchbearers of Olympic Torch atop Mt. Qomolangma from Tibet Mountaineering School.
