Students of Haicheng Primary School in Chengguan District of Lhasa, capital of Tibet Autonomous Region are performing on the 50th anniversary of the establishment of this school on December 24, 2009.
On December 24, 2009, Haicheng Primary School, first privately-run primary school in Tibet ushered in its 50th birthday and a cerebrating activity was held during the afternoon of that day.
Established in 1959, Haicheng Primary School has been named "Dongfang Primary School", "Dongfanghong Primary School", "Jiri Primary School" and etc. In 1997, local governments of Chengguan District in Lhasa and Haidian District in Beijing co-invested over 3 mln yuan to improve its teaching facilities and hence, it was renamed "Haicheng Primary School".
In its 50 years development, Haicheng Primary School has been awarded the titles "Outstanding School in Chengguan District","Model School in Lhasa" and etc.
