Local media reported that the regional education authorities of Tibet Autonomous Region plans to allocate nearly a million yuan to build a village-based kindergarten in Xipu Village, Bainang County of southwest Tibet's Shigatse, to further promote the pre-school education.
Remotely located, Xipu Village with a total population of 452 people in 64 households lags far behind due to poor road conditions. It turns to be a big challenge for the 34 local kids aged from 4 to 6 to go outside for pre-schooling.
Considering this issue, the regional education department and education work commissioner has decided to build the first village-based kindergarten in Xipu Village in Shigatse.
It is told that the kindergarten will be basically free of charge for all enrolled kids in terms food, accommodation and tuition fee.
