The enrollment rate of school-aged children increased to over 90% in Nagqu Prefecture, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region last year, according to the latest statistics of the prefecture.
Nagqu has basically realized the popularity of nine-year compulsory education and elimination of illiteracy among young Tibetans within only 6 or 7 years by resourceful measures and improved education facilities.
The latest statistics shows that there were almost 50,000 school-aged children of primary school with enrollment rate of 98.2% and over 25,000 children of secondary school with enrollment rate of 92.3% last year.
