During the "12th Five-Year" period, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region will pump RMB 1 billion into construction of service facilities for digitized education that basically covers all schools in urban and rural areas, according to the regional educational authority.
The special fund will be used to strengthen the construction of computer-equipped classrooms in primary and middle schools, the campus network and classroom network project, in a bid to make each classroom in primary and middle schools and kindergartens have access to multimedia education.
Besides, Tibet will put emphasis on the construction of information infrastructures in rural areas, and improvement of the utilization ratio of distance learning materials.
Tibet possesses 133 network classrooms and about 1,000 rating points of satellite teaching in the "11th Five-Year" period.
