A senior official of China's top legislature on Wednesday hailed the hard work by a Chinese organization in protecting and developing Tibetan culture and traditions, calling for more efforts in the course.
The Chinese Association of Protection and Development of Tibetan Culture (CAPDTC) has carried out a series of activities featuring Tibetan culture and the achievements made in the protection and development of the cultural heritage over the past three years, said Ragdi, vice-chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee.
Effectively refuting falsity against Tibet made by Dalai Lama and western hostile forces, these efforts highlighted a Tibet marching toward prosperity, Ragdi said while attending a conference of CAPDTC in this capital city of landlocked Tibet Autonomous Region.
He said the association has played a significant role in promoting the development and stability of Tibet, safeguarding national unity and solidarity, and maintaining a favorable international environment.
Ragdi called on the association to work out a long-term plan in promoting communication with political forces, especially parliaments, parties and media circles, of other countries, and hold more influential activities to introduce Tibet to the world.
Established in 2004, CAPDTC has been working for the promotion of Tibetan culture to the world.
