8-9 Century A.D.  Cashmere   Brass  14.3cm(H)

The face of the statue is graceful. The hair-bun is combed high and shaped like a fan with three wisps of hair trailed behind the head. A strap of silk hangs over the shoulder of the statue.

The statue is sitting on a square stand with the right leg crossed, the left one stretching downwards. The left hand stretches naturally and holds a lotus twig. The right arm is curved and placed on the right leg, with the right index finger pointing to the cheek of the statue, posing as the statue is absorbed in contemplation.

Patterned with a couple of lions, the square stand is placed on a single-layered lotus bracket above a cuboid base. On the underside of the base, the Sanskrit inscription is carved.
