Unfold giant thangkas

A Tibetan gala: Tibetan monks attend a ceremony to unfold a giant thangka, a sacred painting on cloth measuring 30 metres by 40 metres, in Xiahe, Northwest China's Gansu Province, during the Tibetan Monlan or Great Prayer Festival on Friday. The festival takes place annually from the fourth to the 11th of the first Tibetan lunar month to commemorates the Buddha's spiritual victory over ignorance.
