World intangible heritage: Tibetan medicinal bathing

The Tibetan Medicine Hospital in Gangca County, Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Qinghai Province exhibits herbs, implements, methods, and equipment for Tibetan medicinal bathing. According to reports, the Tibetan medicinal bathing is one of traditional external treatment methods of Tibetan medicine. In addition to medicinal bathing, there are more than 150 types of Tibetan medicine treatments currently found in Qinghai Province, such as bloodletting, acupuncture, steam fumigation, and copper iron therapy.

It is understood that up to now, the hospital has built a comprehensive health care complex building for Tibetan medicinal bathing combined with preventative health care, tourism experience, cultural heritage and professional training.

At the same time, in order to promote Tibetan medicine culture, the hospital has also designed a special exhibition area that displays thangka paintings of Tibetan medicine , samples of Tibetan pharmaceuticals, Tibetan medical equipment, and a special reading room for Tibetan medicine books.
