According to the Sports Administration of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, 13 middle and long distance runners from the region have departed for Ethiopia to be trained until March 15 to prepare for the qualification trials of the 2018 Asian Games.
"Ethiopia, with an average altitude of 2,750 meters above sea level, belongs to the plateau region. We basically have nearly 40 kilometers of training every day. During the training period, there will also be many other world-class middle and long distance runners who train with them. By learning their techniques, training methods and sprint methods, we may find our shortcomings, widen our horizons and improve our skills," said Kelsang Tsering, coach of the Tibet middle and long distance running team.
