An artwork association has been set up in Shigatse Prefecture of China's Tibet Sunday to better promote the sound and fast development of the region's ethnic culture on Aug.26.
The association is the first one of its kind set up as a non-government organization in the development history of culture and arts of Shigatse, according to information from the unveiling ceremony.
"Artwork constitutes an important part of cultural industry", said Song Shanlin, Party Secretary of the local Cultural Bureau, hoping that the association can play a positive role in establishing industry credibility, protecting intellectual property, building and maintaining a good industrial image, increasing the industry's competitiveness and promoting the industry's sound development.
Besides, the association should also contributes in enhancing cultural exchanges between local artists and peers from other provinces and even abroad, so as to better promote and develop local culture.
Song suggested that the association develop its management talents and art workers through holding trainings. At the same time, it should do its work from the following three aspects: policy introduction, experience exchanges, and artworks exhibition.
The future work will be conducted under the principle of "promoting the inheritance, practice and development of ethnic culture" to realize a scientific, healthy and orderly development of the artwork industry of Shigatse, said Jinpa Lodro, director of the local Cultural Bureau.
