Cultural volunteers from southwest China's Chongqing brought characteristic art performances to residents on Qinghai-Tibet plateau at a renowned park in Lhasa, capital of Tibet, August 29.
The Chongqing group is one of the nationwide volunteer groups summoned by the "Spring Rain" project, which endeavors to bring cultural lectures, performances and exhibitions to all border and remote areas in China.
"Though I made several small faults, generally speaking, I am satisfied with my performance. And I was excited to see so many people applaud and cheer for me", said 13-year-old Miao Dechun, the youngest actor in the group, who has practiced acrobatics for over 4 years.
"I felt a bit uncomfortable in the first few days here. But when I am on the stage, I have only one thought in my heart that I will bring the best performance to my Tibetan fellows", said Meng Jing when oxygen uptake after performance.
The Chongqing volunteer group has done their bit to enrich the cultural life of Tibetans and brought chances for cultural exchange and cooperation between Tibet and inland cities of China, said Ren Qiong, deputy director general of Tibet cultural department.
Seventeen groups with over a thousand volunteers from 13 inland cities have given over 200 performances in Tibet, giving cultural training for over 700 hours and exhibition for 230 days up to this May, according to Ren Qiong.
Meanwhile, more than 300 cultural talents fron Tibet have been invited to receive trainings in Chinese inland cities.
