Auspicious butter sculpture for Losar

Butter sculpture is made of butter in creative designs including animal, god of longevity, lotus, sun, moon and other things standing for luck and fortune. As the Tibetan New Year is approaching, local residents are busying shopping for their necessities, the most attrative one among which is the butter sculpture.

Butter sculpture is made of butter in creative designs including animal, god of longerity, lotus, sun, moom and other things standing for luck and fortune.  It is usually sculpted on a plate placed in "Chemar", a box of traditional Tibetan food symbolizing auspiciousness.
