With the upcoming of Tibetan New Year, more and more locals prefer to buy a potted flower to add some festival atmosphere when the traditional yark meat, butter and chemar are still on hot sale.
Nowadays, flowers and plants, as gifts among relatives and friends, become new fashion among local Tibetans as their increasing demand for living standard and quality of life.
The flower markets have received continuous orders since a few days earlier, which brought a climax on Feb. 14, the Valentine's Day. Youngsters selected roses for their lovers among the people buying potted flowers for home decorations.
It is estimated that there will be another climax for flower sale during a couple of days before the Losar.
