A total of 10 elderly couples joined a Tibetan-style group wedding in Taktse County of Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region on New Year's Day, Jan. 1st, 2012.
The collective wedding ceremony was organized for the 10 couples of Jinye Rest Home by Taktse Party Committee and Taktse People's Government.
Qi Talha, secretory of Lhasa Party Committee and heads from other regional authorities attended the ceremony and presented Khada to the brides and grooms, congratulating them and celebrating New Year with local Tibetans at the site.
The oldest of the ten couples were 70-year-old Talhamo and 68-year-old Chosang.
It was Chosang's first wedding. In the past, he couldn't get married due to hardships in life. He was very happy to get married with Talhamo, for she was considerate and good at take care of others in daily life.
Chosang got married once but her husband died away long before.
"This wedding can be said to my first wedding, for there was neither wedding ceremony nor new clothes for my previous marriage," said she.
In 2011, they had a good impression of each other. They often chatted, had meals and took a walk together. They would comfort the other when he or she was in a bad mood.
