Tibet’s political consultative meeting concludes

The 5th Session of the 9th Tibet Autonomous Region Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) initiated its closing ceremony on Thursday, vowing to reinforce scientific development of Tibet Autonomous Region in 2011-2015 period.

The closing meeting was held at the Great Hall of CPPCC of Tibet Autonomous Region(TAR) in Lhasa on January 12th, 2012. Top leaders of TAR were present at the closing ceremony.

The meeting reviewed the work report of the 9th  CPPCC Standing Committee of TAR over the past years, and the reports on handling proposals of representatives since the last session.

By January 9th, a total of 474 members of the 9th CPPCC of TAR have submitted 301 proposals on Tibet's  economic development, environmental protection, education, the employment promotion, etc.

According to the report on handling of proposals, political advisors attached great importance to issues related to Tibet's scientific development  as well as people's livelihood.
