Tibet will strive to build its cultural industry into a characteristic pillar industry in a proportion of over 3% in Tibet's GDP by the end of 2015.
Tibet boasts rich cultural resources, but there are still many existing problems such as small scale, low scientific content, uncompetitive market share and weak overall strength in the cultural industries.
"During the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015), Tibet will raise supporting efforts in cultural industry to accelerate its development and turn its advantage of cultural resource into economic strength. And the special fund of cultural industry will reach over 50 million yuan by the end of 2015", said Ai Juntao, head of financial department in Tibet.
According to Tibet's plan, it will carry out a series of strategies in key cultural industry projects including the establishment of ethnic cultural industry development zone and cultural dissemination base.
Meanwhile, Tibet will establish ethnic language informatization and encourage the research and development of local characteristic software.
