A thousand students were dancing Gorchom circle dance at the 5th students' apartment cultural festival held on Nov. 10 at Gansu Normal University for Nationalities, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of northwest China's Gansu Province.
The students wearing various Tibetan costumes circled and danced to the music, which not only shows their youthful vigour but also reflects the rich folk custom of Tibetan ethnic group.
According to the students, Gorchom circle dance becomes an essential part in their everyday life as an organized morning exercise.
Established in 1984, the university is the only provincial university for nationalities in Gansu Province and receives students from Gansu and other nearby provinces of Sichuan, Qinghai, Tibet and Yunan. At present, the university boasts thousands of multi-ethnic students, among whom Tibetan students account for 40%, Han 30% and Hui 28%.
