Week-long holiday propels Tibet's tourism market

For many busy office workers, Tibet is the best tourist destination during the week-long National Day holiday (Oct.1-7). According to many travel agencies in Lhasa, capital of Tibet, the week-long holiday has greatly propelled the region's tourism market.

Nyingchi, Namtso Lake, Ngari and Sichuan-Tibet Highway are also the popular tourist attractions besides the celebrated Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, according the head of Tibet Tianjiao International Travel Agency.

Moreover, many tourists preferred to organize car pool for transportation, which could not only save money but also inject fun and zest to the trip.

"Now Tibet is full of tourists. Our tourist buses are packed with tourists."

Mr. Zhang and his wife from northeast China's Liaoning Province arrived in Lhasa on October 1st. They wanted a carpool for a trip to Shigtase Prefecture.

"The trip to Tibet is indeed worthy!" said Mr. Zhang.
