Mourn for quake victims in Yadong

Villagers in Galinggang, Yadong County, Tibet light yak-butter candles in memory of two elderly people killed in the 6.9-magnitude earthquake hit Sikkim, Indian, which has influenced Tibet and caused at least 7 people dead and 24 others injured in Yadong county on September 18, 2011.

Two people from the Galinggang village, 78-year-old Tsering Drolkar and 75-year-old Tsering Dbyangscan died in the earthquake. According to the local custom, local prayers would chant sutra and light yak-butter candles to mourn for people’s death.
