Songtsan Gambo, a famous King in Tibet's history and the founder of the Tubo Kingdom was a household name in both Tibet and China. Now, the historic figure will come closer to us because his birth place, Gyiamar village is about to open as a scenic spot, local newspaper reports.

The spot is said to tribute the 90 anniversaries of the Communist Party of China and the 60 anniversaries of Tibet's peaceful liberation. Gyiamar village, locating in Maizhokunggar County, Lhasa, is a time-honored place with many historical remains.

From 2007 till now, local government has invested 35 million yuan in the maintenance and reconstruction over historical sites, which made the Songtsan Gambo museum, ancient city walls from Tubo period and reminds of many manors regain vitality and well-prepared for upcoming downpour of tourists. 

In addition, villagers there were compensated to refurnish their houses into Tibetan style, to recreate the 'historic' flavor.

Now, Gyiamar has become a new must-visit spot along Lhasa-Nyingchi line.
