The Yamzhog Yumco Lake, known as one of the three holy lakes in Tibet Autonomous Region, is the largest inland lake at the northern foot of the Himalayas.
The lake, more than 70 kilometers to the southwest of Lhasa City, lies in Nakartse County of Lhoka Prefecture in the southern part of Tibet and covers 678 square kilometers with its surface at an altitude of 4,441 meters.
