Drepung Monastery to complete largest maintenance in September

The largest maintenance project for Drepung Monastery, started in the 2009, is expected to be finished by late September this year.  

Located at the foot of the Mountain Gambo Utse, western suburb of Lhasa, Drepung Monastery is the most important monastery of Gelug lineage in Tibetan Buddhism. Drepung Monastery, Ganden Monastery and Sera Monastery are collectively titled the ''Three Great Monasteries'' in Lhasa.
