Rescue efforts go on in mudslide-hit Zhouqu

A local resident walks in the mud after the flood retreated in mudslide-hit Zhouqu, northwest China's Gansu Province, Aug. 28, 2010. Rescuers continued the cleaning work at the blocked part of the Bailong River in Zhouqu so that the reserved water could be discharged as soon as possible. Since Aug. 8, more than 400 heavy machine have been deployed in Zhouqu to work almost around the clock to clean the mud at the watercourse. (Xinhua/Liang Qiang)
