244 people from Tibet were confirmed dead and 435 others injured and hospitalized in the devastating earthquake in Qinghai Province, northwest China, as of April 18, according to Tibet People's Government.
The earthquake has also left another 5 missing.
Tibet has sent a total of 377 rescuers to help quake relief in Yushu, donated about 8.18 million yuan and quake relief materials valued at 2.5 million yuan so far.
Rescuers from Tibet have so far excavated 9 bodies and transferred nearly one thousand affected people. The medical personnel have treated 2,306 injured people, have 119 operations and helped two pregnant women to give birth to babies.
