The Lhalu Wetland, praised by locals as the lungs of Lhasa, covers 12.2 sq km, or 11.5 percent of the total area of Lhasa city. As the world's highest wetland at an altitude of 3,645 m, it has drawn global attention with its unique geographical location and important functions.
