Monasteries in Tibet

Photo shows the Tsedrup Monastery in Dingqen County, eastern Tibet's Qamdo Prefecture. Built in the mid-1300s, the monastery is considered one of the oldest monasteries of the Ben religion in Tibet. (Photo Source tibet.cn) 

 

Tibet's Karchu Monastery with a history of 1,200 years lies in Lhakhang Township, Lhoza County, Shannan Prefecture. Located at an altitude of 3,900 m, the monastery is regarded as a major holy place of cultivation for the Tibetan Buddhist Nyingma Sect. (Photo Source: tibet.cn)
