Tibet's architectural icon, the Potala Palace, will only allow no more than 2,300 tourists a day and tickets for the palace should be booked one day in advance.
According to head of the Potala Palace Administration Champa Kelzang, such practice is necessary for the protection of the Potala Palace.
The Potala Palace has resumed to visitors on March 26 after temporary break because of the 3.14 riots in Lhasa, capital of Tibet.
Nowadays, Tibet is fully reopened to tourists and the tourism industry is picked up again.
"Though only some 1,000 tourists have visited the palace each day now, we still have to balance the tourist flow as the peak time usually comes in the morning," said Champa Kelzang.
The Potala Palace has also carried out the same policy on tourist amount last year.
With the practice of the policy, a lost of tourists will be turned away.
