On May 6, Salung Phunlha, vice-chairman of TAR Committee of CPPCC and the leader of Tashilhunpo Administrative Committee, received the interview in Tashilhunpo monastery.
"We really appreciate the grand support from the central government in maintaining it (Tashilhunpo Monastery). The great efforts taken by the governments at all levels are unforgettable," Salung Phunlha expressed his gratitude when talking about Maintenance Project for Tashilhunpo Monastery.
Maintenance Project for Tashilhunpo Monastery started on April 18, which marked the kickoff of Maintenance Project for 22 Tibetan Cultural Relics.
65-year-old Salung Phunlha said, Tibetan people felt proud of magnificent and characteristic architectures they built in history, which showed ancestors' talent and wisdom. Maintaining those buildings could help protect and inherit ethnic culture and craftsmanship.
"I wish Beijing Olympics a success and hope it will drive Tibetan tourism," Salung Phunlha said "I will pray for Beijing Olympics and arrival of Olympic flame onto Mt. Qomolangma."
