In recent years, Qinghai Province has invited huge investment to protect and develop Paideng and Pixiu craftworks, the "Thongkhor" artistic treasures in Huangyuan County in a bid to boost the cultural industry of Huangyuan County.

Huangyuan County, also known as "Tongkhor" is famous for its Paideng and Pixiu craftworks with exquisite handicrafts, unique styles and centuries-old history.

Paideng: a kind of lamp decorated with all kinds of designs and kindled with candles, which businessmen use to attract customers.
Pixiu: a kind of folk handicraft that embroidered in animal skins.
