In the first half of this year, 12,720 newly increased urban jobs were reported in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), fulfilling 60.6% of the region's objective for 2011, source told from the regional Labor and Social Security Department.

To better solve the college graduates employment problem, preferential policies are issued by the regional labor and social security department, for example, granting subsidy or living allowance for vocational trainees, encouraging priority projects and scientific research projects demanding more talents, and guiding college graduates for employment opportunities outside Tibet.

The regional labor authority successfully organized the first national recruitment fair for college graduates in Tibet with the support from China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and other neighboring provinces. The job fair saw altogether 137 enterprises participating with more than 2,400 job openings offered to over 2,000 job candidates

In the first half of this year, 1,023 college graduates landed their jobs in public-welfare related positions.

With newly increased 4,300 public welfare positions, the total number of public welfare job openings in the region reached to 20,000, addressing altogether 15,438 job hunters' employment needs by the end of this June.
