In primary schools and middle schools in Lhasa, the once noisy schoolyard have become so quiet as the summer vacation drew near. The Children's Palace, museums and bookstores now become base camps for the kids. Besides, the Summer Camp has turned into children's priority selection, rich and varied activities have enriched the life in summer vacation of the Tibetan youth.
Beautiful music came out from the Children's Palace in Lhasa as peopl entered the building. Plenty of parents were waiting in the hall for their lovely children. Drolma, mother of a thrid grader interested in painting, told that her daughter was more active even than her to go to the art class and always afraid of being late.
Yu Jian, Director of the Children's Palace said that the Children's Palace this year has hold dozens of summer sessions, including painting, children's dance, Latin, violin, tae-kwon-do and the game of go, etc. They adopted microteaching methods in classes with a maximum of 25 students. Altogether over 2,000 students participated in the summer session.
Lhapa Droma, head of the Tibetan summer camp told the reporter that children staying in the summer camp have not only learned the knowledge but also kept up their team spirit; all of them have spent an unforgettable summer vacation.
