How to make Tibetan sweet tea?

Most tourists prefer to taste sweet tea instead of butter tea when traveling to Tibet.

How to make traditional Tibetan sweet tea?

Jigme, 53 years old, is the owner of a Shigatse-style Sweet Teahouse, named Xiangju (‘get together’), along the south Barkhor Street. But few people know that Jigme is an experienced tea maker for about 20 years.

Sweet tea made by different people tastes differently. And Jigme has his own recipe.

Every day, Jigme makes 15 pots of sweet tea (an aluminum pot generally holds 22 liters of water). The raw material he uses includes black tea, powdered milk and a little bit sugar.
