The Dama Festival has been celebrated as a traditional ethnic festival with more than a history of 500 years in Gyangze County, Shigatse Prefecture in Tibet Autonomous Region.

The festival is conventionally held from April 10 to 28 on Tibetan calendar and the local people regard it as an entertainment activity in summer.

Commodity trade fairs and various entertaining events such as horse and yak racing, archery, push-and-pull and so on are hosted on the festival, which offers local people a good opportunity to meet friends and share information.
