Nouvelles D’Europe, the 19th CPC National Congress attracts the attention of the world, and a number of European ambassadors and diplomatic officials to China have expressed recently that they are paying close attention to what will be achieved at this important meeting, which occurs once every five years.
French Ambassador to China: focusing on China’s developmental direction for the next five years
On October 12, Jean-Maurice Ripert, French ambassador to China, said at a press conference that he is paying close attention to what new policies and decisions will be put forth during the 19th CPC National Congress.
He said, “These decisions will determine China’s developmental direction over the next five years in fields like urbanization and environmental protection, and will decide what China’s strategic direction on the international stage will be.”
Ambassador Ripert added that he hopes the policies introduced by the 19th CPC National Congress will help extend and strengthen Sino-French cooperation in various fields, such as bilateral investment, cultural exchange, environmental protection, international trade and investment, open international markets, market access, and transparency for public bidding.
In addition, Ambassador Ripert expressed his appreciation for China’s “Belt and Road” initiative.
He said that the scope of the “Belt and Road” initiative is very broad, and there is a lot of room for Sino-French cooperation. Many French financial institutions are willing to develop cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road.
Counselor at the Embassy of Finland in China: stronger cooperation between Finland and China will benefit both
Arto Mustikkaniemi, a science and technology counselor at the Embassy of Finland in China and head of the Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation China Office, looks into the future of Sino-Finnish exchange and cooperation in science and technology innovation. He believes that continuing to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries will benefit both.
Mustikkaniemi affirmed China’s achievements in the field of innovation, and talked about his views on it and believes that corporate innovation is the core of China’s innovation.
He also mentioned that the first collaboration between a Finnish technology company and China started from 1986, and that Finland was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic ties with China. On October 13, Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Denisov said, “China has made significant contributions to the world economy,” during his visit to the “Five Years of Sheer Endeavors” large-scale exhibition on China's achievements made over the last five years.
He said he was looking forward to what new measures for continuing to promote economic development would be introduced during the 19th CPC National Congress.
