Chaka Salt Lake strives to attract more visitors
"According to our plan, by 2020, Chaka Salt Lake will strive to become a scenic spot of 5A level (the top class in China’s scenic attractions assessment),  and a first class tourism destination in China," said a person in charge with the scenic spot.

Chaka Salt Lake, located near Chaka Township in Ulan County, is part of Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in northwest China’s Qinghai Province. With an area of 105 square kilometers, it is known as China's "Mirror of the Sky."

In 2016, the Chaka Salt Lake Scenic Spot was upgraded to a national 4A level (the second class in China’s scenic attractions assessment )  tourism district, hosting 1.9 million tourists per year. As of August 23, 2017, the number of tourists has exceeded two million, with a single day record of 49.8 thousand tourists.
