A ceremony of the issue of the first batch of social security card and the launch of the trans-provincial medical treatment settlement system was held in Nyingchi, southwest China's Tibet on the morning of August 17, 2017.
This marks Tibet's access into the national trans-provincial medical treatment settlement network, addressing the issue of people from the region seeking medical treatment outside of Tibet and allowing them to receive the same convenience as people inland, a new step for basic public services in the region.
Next, Tibet will further broaden data collection of social security card and its issuance, promoting the direct settlement of trans-provincial medical treatment and hospital stay fees covered by the basic medical insurance.
