February 22 marked Losar this year, the first day of the Water-Dragon Tibetan New Year on the Tibetan calendar. Local residents visited friends and relatives that day in Lhasa, capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
They presented "Chemar", a specialty for Tibetan New Year standing for a bumper harvest, and Tibetan beer, known as the highland barley wine among Tibetans and wished "Tashi Delek", a Tibetan saying for good luck and blessings, to one another.
