Artist: Tibetan art education needs more concern

In the "Beauty of Tibet" Art Contest Painting Exhibition, I caught a baby stroller. Driven by curiosity, I waited at the side for its owner. Finally, a young woman holding her child came to the stroller. She put the baby in, and pushed it forward to continue enjoying the exhibition.

I caught up with her and got know that she came to see the work of her friend on purpose. She herself used to study painting, but abandoned it after marriage. On the contrary, her friend insisted on and made great progress. Her friend even won the second prize in such a large-scale contest. This mother said she was not convinced and she came to look for the reason by herself. After seeing her friend’s work, she was even more puzzled: why her friend made such great leaps in short period.

Under her introduction, I found the friend she mentioned, famous artist Ms Yuan Jin, the second prize winner of "Beauty of Tibet" Art Contest, and the author of the painting “Worshiping the Mountain”.

The painter is very young, and in the gray shawl she looked more gentle and dignified. This delicate girl from the south of China used to go to Tibet for several times and live there for months while worshiping the hills with Tibetan people and teaching in remote schools in the past decade.

"In 2000, I came to Tibet for the first time. I was totally amazed to see the desolate and original beauty. I like the Tibetan kind and honest Tibetan people. Because they have faith, they live artistically. The artistic life is highly valued by all artists. I have experienced a lot while living with them."

After being to Tibet, Ms Yuan’s work has been greatly affected. They mostly focus on Tibet, and Tibet has become the spiritual belongs of the painter.

The work in the exhibition is one of her favorite, which comes from one of her most impressive experience in Tibet.
