Ways of Transportation: Self-drive, trekking

We rest on the halfway. (Huang Chunyan, left 1st)

Before the Stone Age, human ancestors had already become bipedal, meaning that they walked upright on two legs. Our ancestors had to pad the hoof wherever they go. Walk is their only alternative unless they could fly, of course, we can't. With the development and advancement of human civilization, various means of transportation are invented to speed up our travel times instead of walking. But now, in the fast-paced society, people prefer to returning the original way of traveling-a long journey undertaken on foot. Trekking in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the world's highest plateau becomes the most zealous route.

Few months ago, I made my 10th trip to Tibet with eight friends via the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. With age ranges from 28-35, it is a kinda professional team with a journalist, a car mechanic and a travel guide, some outdoor sports experts and three Subaru.

Lhasa is a city from which people can derive something buried deep in heart. For me, it is a place where my heart can find the spiritual home. If nothing else, it is a land with pure blue sky, white clouds and snowy mountains piercing into the sky, so, without any hesitation, when having a chance to realize my 10th trip in Tibet, I said YES!

The scenery along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway is amazing.

We have a rest on the halfway.

Coming from different directions of China, we met in Chengdu of Sichuan on Sept. 27, spending a day there doing some preparations, including assignment of responsibility, vehicles safety check and a kick-off dinner.

In the early morning of Oct.28, we set off with wheels roaming on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway known as the one of the most dangerous roads with most amazing scenery in the world.

Not hard to imagine that it would be a memorable trip. Tibet, here we come, again!
