Nyingchi, "throne of the sun" in Tibetan, is located in southeast Tibet, where the Himalaya Mountains and Nyainqentanglha Mountains extend from west to east, like parallel huge dragons, to join the Hengduan Mountains in the east.
Lulang, about 90 kilometers away from Bayi Township of Nyingchi, is a famous Township in southeastern Tibet. Compared with what it used to be, the county takes on quite a new look with many new houses springing up. These typical Tibetan houses are built with wooden roofs, stone walls, and the beams carved with red, blue and green paintings.
When paying a visit to Lulang, if you are lucky enough, you will see the Namjiagbarwa Peak-- the 7,782-meter-high holy mountain will unveil itself from clouds to greet your arrival.
Ride to the peak of Mt. Debangla, one can admire the splendid scene of Yarlung Zangbo River, Lagyabelei Peak and the grand Mt. Namjiagbarwa, which is also rated as the most beautiful peak.
