Located in the western part of Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR), southwestern Tibet, and at the center of the Changtang Plateau on the northern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Nagri Prefecture covers a vast stretch of land and has a sparse population. It is home to dozens of holy lakes and mountains in Tibet such as the Mt. Kailash and the Mapam Yumco Holy Lake. The region still remain mysterious and untouchable for its high elevation and remote location. Following are photos we collected to present you the breathtaking scenery and real life in Nagri.

[Photo/www.lifeweek.com.cn] The Jiwu Monastery is located in the vicinity of the Mapam Yumco Lake. About 30km south to Mt. Kailash, the Mapam Yumco Holy Lake, or Lake Manasarovar, is the most venerated and beautiful lakes among Tibet’s innumerous lakes. It was said that the water of the Mapam Yumco Lake are like" pearls" and that to drink it can erases the "sins of a hundred lifetimes".
