Lhasa's Barkor Street full of surprise

A huge flagpole decorated with colorful sutra streamers is seen in front of the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region, China. [Photo/China Tibet Online] Located in the center of the ancient Lhasa city, also at the Barkort Street, the Jokhang Temple was built in the seventh century by Songtsan Gambo, the Princess Wen Cheng of the Tang Dynasty and Nepalese Princess Bhrikuti. Jokhang Temple is the spiritual center of Tibet, the Holy of Holies, the destination of millions of Tibetan pilgrims.
