On Sunday night, Sept. 11, the first group of 26 Tibetan children suffering from congenital heart defects for free surgery in Beijing went on a boat cruise to the Summer Palace. They enjoyed moon cakes with children and doctors in Beijing to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, New Beijing Newspaper reported.
It is the second step of the medical aid project launched by the China Charity Federation (CCF) for a thousand children with congenital heart disease from ethnic minority families, who cannot afford for the medical cost.
Up till now, a total of 291 children patients have been cured from the Xinjiang Uygur, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia Hui,Guangxi Zhuang autonomous regions and Yunnan Province.
