Princess Wencheng to be shown in Beijing

The story telling Princess Wencheng and Songtsan Gambo has been dramatized in a mixture of Tibetan and Peking operas and will be staged in Meilanfang Grand Theater from August 21 to 23, in Beijing.

The play was acted by both Han and Tibetan outstanding artists.

Since the Beijing and Tibetan operas belong to different opera styles, the playwrights had to take thorough considerations and bold modifications to enable a well-combined and perfect drama to be staged.

Such a hybrid drama combined the two different operas' most notable features in music, song, costume and other aspects.

"Princess Wencheng" was awarded one of the ten classics of Chinese stage drama.

Besides, "Princess Wencheng" has been revised into film playing by the same actors or actress and is expected to be released before long.
