Thupten Dojezhag Monastery, the ancestral monastery of Nyingma Sect or the Red School of Tibetan Buddhism, is located in Gonggar, Lhoka Prefecture of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
The public religious activities in Nyingchi have inherited the common characteristics of Tibetan Buddhism. Differences in customs and traditions of different minority groups have produced a variety of religious sects.
Built in the period of King Songtsan Gambo, the Trandruk Temple is located in the south of Gungbort Mountain, two kilometers away from Nedong County in Lhoka Prefecture, Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).
Prayer wheels are also called “Mani” scripture wheels, which are related to the Six-Syllable Prayer (Om Mani Pad-me Hum). In Tibetan Buddhism, it is believed that the more you chant the Six-Syllable Prayer, the more respect you show to Buddha and the more chances you will be relieved from the six divisions of rebirth.
