Tibetan cultural products showcased at cultural expo
Tibet exhibited over 60 kinds of cultural products with more than 4,000 pieces to promote trading and attract investors at the 13th China International Cultural Expo held from May 11th to 15th in south China’s Shenzhen, Guangdong Province.

During the Expo, a promotion activity was held on the afternoon of May 11th by the host to introduce six of Tibet’s cultural projects, including the park themed on Princess Wencheng and the tourism development project in Dagdong Village in Lhasa.

According to Gyatso, an official with the Publicity Department of southwest China’s Tibet Autonomous Region, Tibet currently owns perfect opportunity to develop its culture industry, which is becoming a pillar industry in Tibet.

The Cultural Expo was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Commerce, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and the People’s Government of Shenzhen City.

A delegation with nearly 200 people from 28 organizations attended the expo.

There’re more than 30 region-level demo enterprises in Tibet, and 4,860 cultural businesses producing a total of more than 3 billion yuan (0.4 billion US dollars) in value.  Tibet annually arranges 60 million yuan (9 million US dollars) to support the cultural industry development. So far, 120 million yuan (17 million US dollars) has been given to 93 cultural projects.
