Elders taken care of at nursing homes in Tibet
In July 2015, the Five Guarantee Service Center of Nedong District in Lhoka Prefecture of Tibet Autonomous Region was put into use. The local government is responsible for lodging, food, and medical care of the elderly residents in the center. Up to now, the center has 212 elderly residents, with the oldest 86 years old. As of the end of 2016, Tibet has established 81 such Five Guarantee Service Centers, serving 11.4 thousand seniors.
