In Barkham County of Aba prefecture, Sichuan Province, there are a group of people who call themselves "highland-walkers". They are of different ages and occupations, but engaged themselves in the same cause— public welfare on the plateau.
The Barkham highland-walker outdoor club was initiated after the Wenchuan earthquake on May 12,2008. At first, it was an organization with only ten members who wanted to send relief to victims in Wenchuan. Now it has over 200 members after five years' development.

Highland-walkers hold public benefit activities every week, which include soliciting clothes and books for poor students, picking up litter on squares or tourist spots, and giving publicity to environment protection. In addition to soliciting clothes from the public, the team also donates its membership fees to people in need.
Li Shan, with her screen name "QiQi", is one of the team founders. As she is a teacher and senior in the team, other members call her "Mother Qi". Talking about her "children", Mother Qi said she was deeply touched to see their devotion to the public welfare.
