Photo exhibition held to celebrate Serfs Emancipation Day

Nowadays, several activities have been carried out in Tibet autonomous Region to remark the 3rd Serfs Emancipation Day. Working group from Tibet Geological Survey held a photo exhibition in Shaogang village Kham county in March 26, 2012.

The leader of geological survey group delivered a speech under the title of “Remember yesterday and cherish tomorrow” bringing the audiences back to the miserable times in old Tibet and reminding of great changes in Tibet when our community break Tibetan serfdom. All of the audiences gave a big round of applause after the moving speech.

Then people were guided to visit the photo exhibition named “past and present”. Lots of pictures reflecting miserable life of slaves were shown in the exhibition. Meanwhile, staffs in the working group told the audiences stories beneath each picture to enhance their better understanding of the exhibition.

After that, the public spontaneously gathered to take part in several activities such as singing and dancing. Smiles shown on their face were the greatest evidence of their happy life.

On Mar.28, 1959, a Democratic Reform aimed to free Tibetan serfs was launched by the Communist Party of China.
